Geir Davidsen
Geir Davidsen graduated from University of Tromsø, Department of Music, Dance and Drama in 2009 with the project "Beyond Sound Barriers".
The artistic goal of Davidsen's project has been to explore and create new playing techniques on the euphonium, and to develop and perform works that takes these in use.
There is not much solo music written especially for this instrument, and most of the works that exists is according to Davidsen little experimenting in relation to the instrument's sonic possibilities.
Professor Ivar Frounberg, Norwegian Academy of Music, was his main supervisor. Professor Niels Winfeld Lund, University of Tromsø was the second supervisor.
